WONDABOY IN THE BUILDING

Wondaboy is far from a novice to Nigeria’s Music Industry. In 2008, passion and a natural born talent led this artiste from Delta State and his former band The Diamondz, to the Star Quest music reality show. The competition launched the beginning of his professional music career when The Diamondz were crowned the winners of the competition for that year. As lead vocalist, his contribution to the band’s win could not be overlooked.

Shortly after their victory, the Diamondz Band began an extensive 2008 touring schedule in Nigeria.  Despite heavy touring in 2009, the band also successfully released their first album Omo Naija under Kennis Music.

After two additional years of touring and performing with the band, Wondaboy’s desire for a unique sound of music led to a decision to venture out as a solo artiste. Having studied the industry closely, he has been able to grow musically by honing his own vocal style and sound.

In March 2011, Wondaboy teamed up with talented musician and producer Ifiok Effanga, AKA Fiokee, who he met in 2006.  They immediately began to work on a variety of tracks including recently released club hits such as Overload & Down Low which have enjoyed some radio play and a strong on-line presence. In December of 2012, his track, I Love You, a cover of Omawumi’s record Stay Alive, also generated a significant buzz and drew even more attention to his vocal talents.

With several exciting tracks and a few hot videos scheduled for release this year, his upcoming album as a solo artiste is being conceived and perfected. Once released, he will be able to further showcase his vocal abilities and song writing skills. A trip to Ghana late last year connected Wondaboy with heavyweight producers and artistes Jayso, Edem, E.L, Gemini, Gafacci, and Dee MoneeY just to name a few. The exciting collaborations that were created from this trip will be released in just a few months.

Immediately scheduled for circulation in the next week are two love songs: No One Like You and Me & You, both in honor of Valentine’s Day. The tracks will be launched a week apart and are the perfect songs to serenade a special loved one with.

Wondaboy’s tracks are currently gaining attention from music fans and professionals in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Russia, the US, UK and Holland.
