Trybe Records set to "Unleash" K9

Trybe Records is set to unleash the multi-talented "K9" with the release of a freestyle entitled "Kokoma".  The self-produced "Kokoma" freestyle showcases K9's abilities as a producer, vocalist, and versatile songwriter.

The freestyle serves as the first taste of solo work for K9 since finishing as 1st Runner Up in the popular Trybe Records talent competition Top Talent and more recently featuring on eLDee's club hit "Higher". The song precedes a flood of material expected from Trybe Records' artists in the next few weeks, headlined by the pending release of K9's 1st studio single.

Born Noble Ezeh, "K9" had his musical interests sparked by his brother at a young age growing up in Iperu remo, Ogun State.  As a music and language aficionado, he honed his ability to play the keyboard while mastering the French language as a student receiving his B.A. from Imo State University.  Also an avid dancer, K9 was influenced by modern dancers/vocalists like Chris Brown and Usher and strives to deliver the same caliber of stirring live performances.  K9's influences range from the vocal abilities of Tuface and Waje, to the rapping, production, and songwriting prowess of eLDee and MI. 

In addition to his high profile feature on eLDee's "Higher", K9 also featured on eLDee's Undeniable album on the popular tracks "Transformer Love" and "Zombie".

Airtel wins three industry Awards

Leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria on Saturday night clinched three industry Awards at the prestigious 8th edition of the Nigerian Telecoms Awards.
The telecoms operator beat other competitors to emerge the Industry's Most Innovative Telecom Company of the Year, Telecom Brand of the year and Customer Friendly Operator of the year at the well-attended event marked by a huge presence of dignitaries from both the private and public sectors.

According to Awards' citations, Airtel emerged overall best in the three categories following its enviable strides in charting new paths in meeting the demands and needs of its esteemed stakeholders through superior brand experience, a rich portfolio of innovative products and services ranging from exciting voice solutions to inventive data packages and mobile broadband.

On the Customer Friendly Operator Award, the organizers said, "this is the third time Airtel Nigeria is coming tops in the Customer Service category in the history of the Nigerian Telecoms Awards, and this clearly demonstrates the commitment of the management to treat their customers as more than just a connection".

Brand Lies: Nutella pays $3million for misleading advertising

Fer­rero mar­keted their iconic ‘Nutella’ brand world­wide as “an exam­ple of a tasty yet bal­anced break­fast” when com­bined with milk, orange juice and whole­wheat bread.

The claim from a Cal­i­forn­ian mother, and sup­ported by a class action, was that the adver­tis­ing made them believe the prod­uct was healthy.

Last week, the case was set­tled in favour of con­sumers with reports claim­ing they now share in about $US3 mil­lion as compensation.

Forbes cyn­i­cally reported “$3 Mil­lion for Amer­i­cans too stu­pid to know Nutella is not the health­i­est break­fast”.

On one hand, it does seem to be yet another friv­o­lous claim. Com­mon sense should pre­vail. The ingre­di­ents and nutri­tional infor­ma­tion are clearly printed on the label.

How­ever, it is another exam­ple of how adver­tis­ing can actu­ally dam­age the brand. Dis­re­gard­ing the brand’s equity for short-term think­ing and achieve pub­lic­ity for all the wrong reasons.

 It has officially been confirmed that Nollywood Bad Boy, Jim Iyke is earmarked to host the upcoming Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (GIAMA) in Houston, Texas on October 20!

Love him or hate him, Jim has no substitute, and he is the guy with the right swag for the job, and guests will definitely be in for a fabulous time. In addition to Jim, there will be line-up of comedian’s, musicians, actors, and film makers that are set to keep the house rocking and entertained.
